Viacom Hires Former Solicitor General For YouTube Appeal

Viacom certainly isn’t messing encircling in its appeal of its fight against YouTube, which Viacom <a href=”http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20100623/1333269937.shtml”>lost huge age</a> in the first round. The corporation has apparently brought on high profile superstar lawyer <a href=”http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/thr-esq/viacom-hires-superstar-lawyer-handle-31587″ target=”_blank”>Ted Olson, the former Solicitor Common</a> under George W. Bush to handle the appeal. Bringing Olson in is probably more about preparing for the inevitable Supreme Court review of this condition, however clearly Viacom wasn’t pleased with how its existing legal team did in the first round, where it couldn’t much get past summary judgment.<br /><br /><a href=”http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20101020/17061011515/viacom-hires-former-solicitor-common-for-youtube-appeal.shtml”>Permalink</a> | <a href=”http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20101020/17061011515/viacom-hires-former-solicitor-common-for-youtube-appeal.shtml#comments”>Comments</a> | <a href=”http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20101020/17061011515/viacom-hires-former-solicitor-common-for-youtube-appeal.shtml?op=sharethis”>Email This Tale</a><br />
