I guess it all has to do with touch, and that’s fine. I’d rather be drawing lines on my iPhone screen than trying to control a virtual d-pad in a first-person shooter, and that’s why I’m having a bit of fun with W.I.P. It stands for Employment In Progress…although, judging from the shape of the hour buses you control in the game, I have a feeling the P stands for something else entirely.

What is it?

In an amusingly brief introduction, we learn the planet Mytral is about to be ruined by a giant meteor. With no hope for survival, it’s your job to ferry the engineers (eggs in dense hats) to their destinations on hour buses.

Oddly, the engineers can’t be taken directly to the exit. Rather, a number appears on your bus when the engineer boards. You have to capture the engineer to the corresponding door, and only after doing this a couple of times will he/she/it be ready to leave. Plenty of employment to be done, I guess, which is unfortunate, considering you’re under attack all the while.

How does it employment?

The entirety of the game has you drawing lines. Touch your bus, and employ the border to guide it to an engineer. Do the same to then guide it to the engineer’s following destination. Objects will get in your path, so a straight border will rarely ever employment. You also demand to avoid items that can ruin your ship, and you demand to do all of this within the age limit. It starts outside attractive slowly, however it gets quite dense quite quickly, exceptionally when you have to commence managing multiple busses and engineers.

Making matters worse is the circumstance that your finger may really get in the path of what you’re trying to do. My performance increased greatly when I used the AluPen.

Is it contagious?

A small bit, yeah. It won’t absorb your afternoon, however W.I.P. is a fun enough diversion for quick gaming sessions. You may get through the 24 tale mode levels also quickly, however a challenge mode at three skill levels prolongs the game’s shelf lifetime. Regardless, you’ll be your dollar’s worth.

The graphics are very excellent and animation is smooth, however the audio will grate on your nerves. Thankfully, there’s an option to shut it off. I do reckon W.I.P. would be bigger served on the iPad where the game play wouldn’t feel so tight.

Seriously, though, what’s up with the ship design, flying encircling picking up small eggs. It’s not just me, fair? You all see it, also? Excellent body Apple didn’t.
