Whether you’re looking for something to protect the top surface of your Magic Mouse or you’re just sick of how your finger doesn’t always glide as nicely on its surface as you’d like, Moshi has just the product for you. It’s called the MouseGuard, and it doesn’t just protect your Magic Mouse, it makes it bigger.

The thought behind the MouseGuard—which comes in white or silver—is very alike to a screen protector for an iDevice: cover the top of the device with a layer of protection thin enough to still allow everything to employment as originally intended. The MouseGuard certainly does that. It’s essentially a very precisely divide, curved, thin piece of plastic with two adhesive strips.

<img src=”http://admintell.napco.com/ee/images/uploads/appletell/moshimouseguardinstructions.png” title=”" alt=”Moshi MouseGuard instructions” width=”600″ height=”288″ />

Installation, as you can see illustrated above, is just as simple as it looks. I was worried that placement was going to be dense, however it really wasn’t. Just align the MouseGuard starting towards the center and apply pressure outwards to get those adhesive strips to stick. You don’t much have to wait for it to locate up; you can commence using your Magic Mouse again straight away. And you might be pleasantly surprised when you do.

Why’s that? Since in addition to protecting the top of the Magic Mouse, which might seem a bit overkill, it provides a different texture. The plastic has a nice matte texture to it that allows your finger to slide very easily no affair what. If you have a Magic Mouse already, you’ve probably experienced some frustration while scrolling or performing another gesture due to excess moisture or humidity. The MouseGuard completely fixes this, and it much looks bigger since it doesn’t leave any smudges. I really wonder why Apple didn’t choose to go with this texture on the top of the Magic Mouse to commence with.

The Moshi MouseGuard is nearly a must-have accessory for the Magic Mouse. There’s really nothing not to like about it, except perhaps that you have to exchange your Apple logo for a Moshi logo; a small value to pay for all of the benefits involved. You won’t be sorry.
